Lift the Flaps - Always a Favourite

Lift the flap books are great favourites with young children - and even older ones! Children love the opportunity to slowly lift the flap & discover what is underneath - even if they know the book well. This is an excellent medium for teaching children colours, numbers and in this book, opposites.

On each page there is a dog. Underneath the flap is the opposite - short dog/long dog, right-way-up dog/upside down dog etc. These are very unfussy pages with just the picture of the dog - there is no background or context. Personally I would have preferred more detail to the page to make it more interesting. However at least this way the young child's attention is not drawn elsewhere.

The book itself is a 16cm square board backed book. The flaps are fairly stiff cardboard but, as always with this type of book, there is the potential to damage the flaps.

This isn't a book that I would choose to buy particularly. I am not that keen on the style of pictures.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
