After being shipwrecked on the shores of Egypt and mistaken for a Horse God, Julius can't believe his luck! Soon he and his bedraggled friends will be living it up in the city of Alexandria; preened and pampered like gods. Then a fancy boat procession will take them down the River Nile to Giza where, of course, a lavish party will be thrown in Julius's honour – as well as getting the obligatory tour of the Pyramids. BUT it is this very tour that seems to signal the end to their glorious fortunes in Egypt. On a visit to the Tomb of Cleopatra, Felix is unable to resist a rather lovely looking treasure for his rock collection... He pockets the jewel and immediately a curse falls upon the group. And so the ridiculous adventure begins where Julius fights for his life as the Egyptians come to unravel the truth and realize that he is not quite what they thought he was...

Funny but Stacked with Facts

This is the second of the Julius Zebra series which I have read. In this book we follow Julius and his friends as he travels to ancient Egypt and is mistaken for a god......well until it all goes wrong and they get into all sorts of scrapes!

These Julius Zebra books are full of high energy fun and silliness which exactly appeals to the junior school age. Things go predictably wrong and Julius gets into all sorts of funny scrapes. The books gallops along at a good pace leaving no room for the reader to get bored. Even the most reluctant reader will find entertainment with Julius Zebra.

Whilst all this action and fun is occurring the reader is learning a host of Egyptian facts. It is one of those books that you will read and not realise how much information is in there and how much you are learning. It is excellent for this age of child reinforcing some of the national curriculum.

An excellent book that I am happy to recommend for any child of this age.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
