Fun with a Pengaroo & Womduck!!

Leon the possum loves tales of adventure and dreams of going off on an

adventure one day. One moring as he was drifting off to sleep Leon sets

off on his adventure in his dreams. He meets all sorts of creaturmals

and they set off for adventures.

This is an Australian based book so

the animals featured in it are Australian including possums and wombats.

There are also references to the bush. This makes for an interesting

setting.

Creaturmals are a mix of two animals which I can see that

children will love including a pengaroo and a womduck! This is something

that children can continue for themselves, inventing mixed up animals.

They are very friendly and this is primarily about Leon making friends

with all these animals.

This is a well illustrated book with full

double page illustrations with the text written on a pale section of the

picture such as the sky or ground. The pictures aren't over complicated

but the illustrations of the strange mixed up animals are clear.

This

is a nice book to read and flows well. It is designed to be read to a

slightly older child around the age of 4 or 5. It is a bit too long to

hold the interest of a much younger child. This is fun and I am sure it

will spark a child's imagination to invent their own Creaturmals!

I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley.
