Moral Story for Younger Children

Melissa Mouse is admiring her new dress when Frederick the Frog zooms past on a bike knocking her into a ditch. Despite this Melissa tries to help Frederick out of the pond where he is stuck.

This isn't a particularly exciting or indepth story but it does have a good moral. Despite Frederick Frog making her dress dirty, Melissa Mouse does help him and in the end he does buy her a new one. There is plenty to talk about with younger children about how helping people is important and how we need to look after each other.

The illustrations are brightly coloured and very simple to look at. There is text on the left hand page & a full page illustration on the right. There is quite a bit of text for a book of this type taking up most of the left hand page albeit with double line spacing.

This is an ideal book for talking to your child about the importance of helping each other. It could be good for a group setting as the pictures are a good size & quite simple.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
