Bright & Eye Catching

This is a lovely little Indonesian/Malaysian

folk tale about the little Mouse Deer, Kancil. He gets caught by Harimou

the tiger and tries to trick him to get free. It is very reminiscent of

Aesops Fables.

This is a beautiful

book with vibrant and eye catching illustrations on every page opening.

The writing is an excellent size so that children who are just

beginning to pick out words can clearly see them. The text is written

with a nice rhythmn and rhymes in most places. The story is simple with

the clear message that it isn't always the biggest animal who wins.

I was given a free copy of this book by the publisher.
