In ten powerful stories, Victoria Hislop takes us through the streets of Athens and into the tree-lined squares of Greek villages. As she evokes their distinct atmosphere, she brings vividly to life a host of unforgettable characters, from a lonesome priest to battling brothers, and from an unwanted stranger to a groom troubled by music and memory. Ideal Short Stories for a Coffee Break

This is a collection of short stories by the author, Victoria Hislop. These are light, easy to read stories which are just the right length for a coffee break!

A majority of these stories are set in Greece. I presume that many of them were inspired by her research into her novel "The Thread". These are primarily about relationships (not just romantic) and many are set with the background of the current economic crisis.

Victoria Hislop has the ability to create a character with just a few sentences, bringing people to life in quite a lot of depth for a short story.

This is a lovely little book of short stories. If you have enjoyed her novels then I am sure that you will enjoy these.
